Hi Colby,
The original Mullikins of Maryland started on the Eastern Shore.James Mullikin I was the progenitor/immigrant of that group.There was a group of Mullikins along with many other MD families who went to Kentucky in the mid to late 1700's.I think it is unclear if James was from Ireland or Scotland.I think if you keyword James Mullikin into Yahoo, etc. you will get a list of sites that have a lot of detailed history of the Maryland group at least.Also, if you put the name of Clarence Mullikin (of Prince George's County, MD)into the LDS data base, and follow the Mullikin links back to the 1600's, you can see something about the original James Mullikin.Good luck.
