Understood. I say follow your gut. Sometimes instincts are right, at least about something that doesn't "fit", even when documentation appears to indicate otherwise. My own feeling is that some of the reason we get bitten by the geneology bug is due to DNA, cellular memory, a collective unconscious, the Hand of God, whatever. All I know is that some of what we learn explains some things, and obviously you are responding to something worth listening to. For example, there are bound to be plenty of unrecorded children, particularly when these were times in which a lot of people wanted to know women weren't barren before they got married.
