Hi Cindy,

I can tell you a little about the family. Not sure I have much (if any) on George though.

"John Mulliken was born 01 Jan 1796 in Philadelphia, PA. His father was lost at sea, and when John was a small boy, his mother brought him with two brothers and a sister to Boston, MA. A man named David Reed, of Londonderry, NH, or thereabouts, took John into his home and here he lived until he was married to Achsah Sawyer, daughter and fourth child of Reuben Sawyer and Tryphena Messer Sawyer, of Londonderry, NH. Reuben Sawyer was born in Dracut, MA and Tryphena Messer, his wife, was born in Metheun, MA. After the mother founds homes for her children, she returned to Philadelphia, where she had relatives. John Mulliken never saw his mother after he went to Mr. Reed's to live. It is said that John had a brother George, and that their mother's maiden name was Eliza or Elizabeth Klein or Kline." written by Mrs. A. J. M. in Boston Transcript, 1894.
