Hello, cousin! I'm so glad you posted this. I had wondered for a long time who Ryal's parents might be.

It is also interesting that his brother James A. Morgan married Amanda Newell. You see, Elizabeth Mullican Morgan's sister Anna married John Newell. I believe that that John Newell may have been either a cousin of theirs or kin of some kinfolk of theirs. There was a John M. Newell who m Temperance Bastin b 1785 Caswell Co NC. Supposedly Anna and Elizabeth's great-grandmother (through their mother Nancy Ridgeway and grandmother Millie Phillips) was Catherine Bastin, and it is certain that the cemetery where many Casey Co Mullicans are buried is called the "Bastin Cemetery" by some. I don't know whether Temperance and John M. Newell moved to Casey Co KY, but it is certain that her older brother William B. Bastin died in Casey Co KY before November 18, 1818.

So perhaps the Bastins formed another link tieing together the Mullican and Morgan families.
