Cheryl, I think you are looking for George Pickney Mullican: 1850 census DeKalb Co., TN Dist 15. 937-George Mulikin 21 farmer b TN Michel 19 f b TN Sarah 4/12 f b TN Martha Page 5 f b TN 1860 census Pope Co., AR Independence Twp Millican, George 31 M farmer b TN Michel 29 F b TN Sarah J. 10 F b TN John W 7 M b KY Marion 5 M b TN Hannah 4 F b AR Charity 2 F b AR Susana 8.12 F b AR Michel was the daugther of Jacob Page and Jane Allen. George Pickney Mullican was son of John Greenberry Mullican and Sarah Barnes. Several researchers, including myself have referred to George Mullican as George Perry Mullican in the past. I have always been puzzled by two things: 1. Who was the Pickney Mullican that made a purchase at the estate sale of William Mullican, father of John Greenberry Mullican. 2. Why John G. Mullican would name a son Perry G. Mullican and a son, George Perry Mullican. I think researchers have gotten the two confused. Since descendants of John W. Mullican refer to his father as Pinkney. I believe George P. Mullican was in fact named George Pinkney Mullican. The Bible record on children of John G Mullican only have George listed as George P. Mullican. I think George got his middle name from the Pickney family of South Carolina. John G. Mullican was born in 1791 in South Carolina. In 1790's Charles Pickney was governor of South Carolina and later US Senator in early 1800's when John G. Mullican was a teenager. I surmise that Perry G. Mullican got his name from Commodore Perry of War of 1812 fame.
