William Miller(1881-1953)is my grandfather. History as follows: Lena Muller (1856-1888) and Henry Miller Sr.(1850-1926)were his parents. They had three children William (my grandfather), Louisa(1882-1886) and Minnie(1887-1889)... all with the last name "Miller." Lena had 1 sister,Theresa (1869-1929) and 2 two brothers; August(unknown) and Charles "Edward" (1865- ?) . Their parents (William's grandparents)were Elias Muller(died in Germany before they all immigrated to USA in 1875)and Christiana Crist Mueller (1831-1895). When Lena died, Henry Miller married her younger sister, Theresa Muller(a common practice in those times, as was taking the wife's last name in the German Culture)and they had 4 children; Henry jr (1890-1974), Frank (1893-1922), Theresa(1903- ?)and Amelia (1904-1965). William left home at 16 and remainded estranged from his father, Henry Sr, aunt/step-mother, Theresa, and half-siblings. We have not been able to find out the details. Much information is still elusive. We are looking for missing information, stories, descendents as well as ancestors, basically other relatives to share information, photos and stories with. I have joined one of my cousins on working on our family ancestry (she has been working on it on and off for over 20 years). We have photos of most of the above people and more information (and need information). If you are a relative and interested....please contact me. Also, you may be able to fill in some of the blanks for us. We need help in finding out what happened to several of the above people and we are trying to find information on our grandfather, William Miller/Muller. We know Henry Sr. and Lena were in San Francisco,California (1880 census) and William was born there. We don't know why they were there or for how long. Have had great difficulty locating William's military records also. Don't know where Lena and family came from in Germany(possibly Hamburg) or where Henry Sr came from in Germany. We don't know the ports of entry for them either (CA,LA or NY possible). We do know that they lived in Brooklyn and Manhattan and some members moved to Rockland County and some to Long Island. Furthermore, there is a family plot in Queens, NY with most of the above persons in it including both Henry Sr & Jr and Lena & Theresa. If anyone can shed any light on any of this we would be very appreciative.
