FYI: There is a scrapbook offered on Ebay today that was supposedly put together by a young Mullaney female in Boston around 1872. I don't have any connection to this Mullaney individual, I don't think. My Mullanys are from Cahir, Co. Tipperary and (mostly) Iowa in the USA. It'd be great if this Mullaney heirloom landed in the right hands. The Ebay link is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1440&item=2239279165&rd=1 And the description given is: "here for your consideration is a truly wonderful old scrapbook made in 1872 by a young Irish woman named Mullaney from the Boston area. It is loaded with great die cuts, Victorian pictures, newsclippings and poetry--leaning toward the Irish. The very first story is about the funeral mass for a Miss Maggie O'Leary, and there is an enclosed clipping about another one for the late Ellen Connolly of Holliston. It seems there were several apparitions at the funeral of Ms. Connolly, including a cross and a sacred heart. There is even an embossed logo of the 1776-1876 International Exhibition! The 8" x 11 1/2" book is in pretty good condition for its age--no loose or torn pages but some water damage and musty smell. Very reasonable reserve. Would be fabulous for your collection--very interesting!!!" Notify Administrator about this message?
