Johanna,

Any clue as to county of origin? I have some Patrick Mullaneys in my line coming out of the Cahir, Co. Tipperary area. I wouldn't necessarily get too worked up about the distinction between the "Mallaney" vs "Mullaney" or even "Mullany" or "Mullowney" spellings. All of these could be kin, just used to spelling it their way. At the Mullaney Clan website (I think) they speak of 50 varieties of spelling of the name.

Jim Mullany
Sandia Park, NM
