I agree with you, Jean, on your speculative lineage. I am descended from Anes, b. 1 Nov. 1792, m. 11 May 1816 John Huey. Note, however, that the Narcissus Mulkey, who married C. C. Cantrell in Jackson Co., MO (see message below), may be the one who married Daniel Whaley.
I'd like to know why you think James Mulkey died in 1748. He definitely was in Bladen Co., NC, in 1744, if I recall, and there are references to a James Mulkey in Orange Co., NC, in the 1750s, if I remember (though my notes are at home and haven't looked at them for a long time). The James Mulkey who died in 1794 in Carter Co., TN, however, may be the one who was the father of James Bowlyn Mulkey who went to Indiana.

The dates for her came from a family Bible, but I don't know where she married John Huey----he was of Iredell Co., NC, in 1810, probably, but his father moved to TN about that time, before moving to Illinois in 1814. John was in Illinois in 1818.Their daughter was born in 1817, possibly in Virginia.
