Thanks for that. The trouble is that I found this birth but I am not convinced that they the parents of James Keating. I found the entry with them as the parents of a James Keating born in Dublin in 1842. All I have to go on is that James Keating was born in Dublin in 1842 and that his father was a merchant. The entry on his death certificate shows his parents as James and Elizabeth, but that was his and his wife's names. He died in an accident so his wife may have been stressed and didn't recognise the question. He married and died in New Zealand but I can't find him as a passenger on any of the immigrant ships.
