Margaret was the eldest ? daughter of Bernard Mulholland and Mary Traynor. Her parents may have been born in Ireland but emigrated after a while in Scotland, perhaps Lanark. She had at least 3 other sisters, Catherine, Elizabeth and Letitia b. 1848. Before 1868 some of the family moved to Toronto. They were Roman Catholic.
