Ms Baker,
I am researching the Mulherns in Ohio. I came across a Peter Mulhern in Wellston, Jackson Co, Ohio who died Mar 23,1895 .He was 45yrs7m03daold at the time of his death, which would very well be the Peter that was living with Jonas Marshall in Gallia Co, Here is something that I am trying to piece togather. Ages and years match
Ancestors of Mary Ann Mulhern
Generation No. 1
1. Mary Ann Mulhern, born December 1845 in Northern Ireland; died April 14, 1907 in Wellston Jackson Co,Ohio. She married (1) John Guthrie January 30, 1878/79 in Scioto,Ohio. He was born Abt 1865 in Northern Ireland, and died Abt 1888 in Possibly Minerton Cemetery Vinton County, Ohio. He was the son of Patrick Guthrie and Mary.
Notes for Mary Ann Mulhern:
Married Jan 30, 1879
Scioto Co, Ohio

Mary Ann had a brother William {April 1855} living with her in the 1900 Census. At this time she was widowed.

Mary Ann Died at the age of 65 years old.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mary Ann & husband (John Guthrie) in 1880 census. He
was listed as coal miner as was William in the 1900 census. I guess
that makes it likely that they all came from a coal mining area of
Ireland.
I don't really have much of a clue as to
their origins in Ireland. Perhaps their gravestone(s) might say. Or
marriage records?
