David,
John Muirhead (1659-1725) with his brother James Muirhead (1653-?) were bannished to the colonies. John married Rebecca Baylis in Queens county New york and had 4 sons, James, Heorge, John and William. There is no record of James landing in the colonies and must assume that he died en-route when the sip was struck by a fever killing many of the crew and passengers.
James Muirhead and Elspeth Dunne are my G.G.G.G.G.G.G.G.G FRANDPARENTS. James parents were Alexander Muirhead & Eupham Jervey direct descendents of Sir Guiliamo Du Mureheade of Lauchope.(This part I am still researching but difficult due to many records being destroyed, lost, stolen or in family archives)
If you have any info that will assist me please e-mail to,
[email protected]
Many thanks
William Muirhead
