First Generation

1. Charles MUIR was a Marble worker in Newfoundland, Canada.1 "... Isabella married John McLellan Muir from Greenock and their son Charles took over the stone-cutting business."



Second Generation

2. John McLellan MUIR was born in 1835 in Greenock (Renfrew), Scotland.2 He immigrated about 1860 to Newfoundland, Canada.2 He lived in Greenock (Renfrew), Scotland.1 "... John McLellan Muir from Greenock ..."

3. Isabella SMITH1 was born. Said to be Alexander SMITH's "eldest daughter." John McLellan MUIR and Isabella SMITH had the following children:

       1       i.       Charles MUIR.



Third Generation

4. Charles MUIR was born about 1792. He was christened on 1 Jul 1792 in Old Kilpatrick (Dunbarton), Scotland.3 The info on this line of MUIRs that lists a source of "Mary Helen Allen," was originally shared with her by Marion Muir Baker of St. John's (Newfoundland), Canada.Charles MUIR had the following children:

       2       i.       John McLellan MUIR.

6. Alexander SMITH lived in Scotland before 1842.1 He immigrated about 1842 to Newfoundland, Canada.1 He was a Marble worker in Newfoundland, Canada.1 According to info from Marion Muir Baker (via Mary Helen Allen), "Muir's Marble Works began with my gggrandfather Alexander Smith ..." Alexander SMITH had the following children:

       3       i.       Isabella SMITH.



Fourth Generation

8. Charles MUIR3 was born. According to info from Marion Muir Baker (in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada), via Mary Helen Allen: "He (Charles, "Jr.") had one brother, William Muir and 4 sisters."

9. Isabel YOUNGSTER3 was born. Charles MUIR and Isabel YOUNGSTER had the following children:

              i.       Elizabeth MUIR was born about 1786. She was christened on 3 Dec 1786 in Old Kilpatrick (Dunbarton), Scotland.3
       4       ii.       Charles MUIR.
              iii.       Jean MUIR was born about 1794. She was christened on 2 Sep 1794 in Old Kilpatrick (Dunbarton), Scotland.3
              iv.       Isabel MUIR was born about 1796. She was christened on 10 Jul 1796 in Old Kilpatrick (Dunbarton), Scotland.3
              v.       William MUIR1 was born.
              vi.       MUIR1 was born.
