I cannot comment on Catherine in particular but I can tell you there were Muil's in Perthshire. I am descended from a family from Blackford--born in the 17707s/1780s who move to Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire. The name sometimes appears as Muile, Maul or Maule. My point is, don't assume Catherine was Moir---her relatives could appear with the name spelled with these variations.
