Clara Haehner Bauman
Clara Haehner Bauman, 86, of Amherst died Friday at the Lorain community Hospital following a one-year illnes.
She was born November 6, 1899 in Chicago, IL. She was raised in Akron and lived for the past year and a half in Amherst. Prior to that she lived in Lorain for 58 years.
She worked for the Printz-Beiderman Coat Factory in Lorain for 10 years. During World War II, she began working at National Tube in Larain and continued there until 1962.
She was a member of the Christ Methodist church in Lorain. She was a charter member of the Lorain American Association of Retired Persons. She volunteered at the Lorain Community Hospital for 22 years and at the Kennedy Plaza in Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Elmer Bauman , in Dec 1961, after 45 years of marriage.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph(Bert) of Sheffield Lake and Edwards J of Greensboro, NC; two daughters, Mrs Lillian Schaeffer of Amherst and Mrs Thomas(Elsie) Kilpatrick of Grafton; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Karl Haehner of Norton, OH, and one sister, Mrs Elsie Ratcliff of Akron.
Family will receive friends at the Hempel Funerlal Home, 373 Cleveland Ave in Amherst, today 2-4 and 7-9 pm . Services are Monday at 11am in the funeral home. The Rev Barry A Wolfe, pastor of the Old Stone United Methodist Church in Amherst will officiate.
Burial will be at the Brown hill Cemetery in Vermilion.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Vermilion YMCA.
