There were at least three Jeremiah Mudgetts born within a five year span. All of them can be found in Maine in 1850. One in Prospect, Waldo County (this, I believe, would be the Captain). One is found in Frankfort, Waldo County (I think this one is my Jeremiah Mudgett, he was a farmer). The third was located in Bangor, Penobscot County. This Jeremiah was a millman, and living in the abode of Sewall Chapman.

Although there was also a Sarah Kent living in this household as well, I don't think she was related to my Kent family, into which my Jeremiah eventually married. My Kent family did, however, live in Penobscot County at the time.
Jeremiah Mudgett and Jane P Kent were married Dec. 31, 1851, in Brewer, Maine.

In 1852, William Kent moved his sizable clan, including Jeremiah and Jane Mudgett, to Wisconsin.
