Hi Darlene,
Making contact with the family will not guarantee the facts are correct. I've seen mistakes made by family, on vital records and even on tombstones.

Here is what I found.

Oliver Morton McLeland b. Oct 1864 in Indiana. He married Alice josephine Lyons 3 March 1895 in Neosho Co., Kansas.
He married Ella B. Patterson abt. 1923.
Oliver died April 1939 in Helena, MT.

Most larger libraries provide free access to Ancestry. I thought you might want to contact Jim Huff. Also you can't enter anyone's family tree into your database without verifying the info.

Oliver M. McLeland, 75 of Woodlawn died late Friday Night in St. Peter's hospital. He lived in Montana for 31 years and in the Helena vicinity since 1917. For many years he was engaged in ranching at Lincoln. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana in 1864.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ella B. McLeland, two sons, Marvin and Maurice and a daughter Miss Lola McLeland, all of Helena; another son Albert of Fort Worth, TX, another daughter Miss Elsio McLeland of Grand Prairie, Alberta and a sister Anna R. Kave of Fort Worth.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:30 o'clock Monday in the Opp and Conrad chapel by the Rev. L. C. Hicks. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery. Pall bearers will be R. C. Hoffman, I. Kay Hall, Auren Flacker, William Flacker and P. W. Woods. Source: Helena Independent (Helena, MT) published 23 April 1939, p. 5.

In 1910 Maurice was living with [Oliver] Morton and Josephine in Lincoln School District, Lewis and Clark, MT.
Morton McLeland, b. IN, 45, M2=15, farmer, stock raising.
Josephine, wife, b. KS, 34, M1=15, had four children and all alive in 1910.
Elsie, b. MO, 12.
Marvin, b. KS, 8.
Leola, b. KS, 7.
Morris, b. KS, 3.

In 1920 the family [except for Josephine] was living in Helena.
Oliver M. McLeland, b. IN, 51, widower, laborer stock farmer.
Ollie, son, b. KS, 19, single, truck driver lumber yard.
Maurice, b. KS, 12.
Theodora Mcdonald, and Marvin & Vernon, boarders.

"Who Will Get Money From Sunshine [Mine]?"
"... One of the women who filed a claim against her husband wrote to the court clerk waiving all claims. She was Lillian Neoma McLeland of Butte, MT. The letter dated Dec. 30 stated she had dropped her divorce action against Maurice McLeland. . ."

Mr. and Mrs. Laurence H. Staab, Kalispell announced the engagement of their daughter Faye Anita to Lauren Edward McLeland, Portland [Oregon], son of Mrs. V. L. McAdams, Portland and Maurice McLeland, Tucson, Ariz. Miss Staab graduated from Flathead County High School in 1957 and Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing in Portland in 1960.
