Dear Vickie: The death cert. @ the Butte, Silver Bow Co. Clerk & Recorder office: #18271 Nellie CAMPBELL, widow, b. 25 Dec 1862 NY, Father-Maurice Murray b. Ireland, Mother-Mary Sullivan b. Ireland, d. 19 June 1914 cause-Cerebral Hemmorhage, buried 22 June 1914 Holy Cross Cem., residence in the state for 16 yrs, res. in the city 717 Maryland Ave., informant Margaret Campbell. Her obit in The Butte Miner newspaper, Sat Morning 20 June 1914 is somewhat lengthy but the important paragraph is as follows: "Mrs. CAMPBELL had been a resident of Butte for 17 years and was widely known and highly regarded. She leaves three daughtersk, Misses Margaret, Helen, and Laura, and a son, Maurice. She was 53 years of age. The young women are employed at the Mountain States Telephone Co."
There is no James M. CAMPBELL death from 1908 thru 1912.
I happened to glance at the City Directories and in the 1910 Butte City Directory, which is as of May, 1910, Nellie E. CAMPBELL is listed as the widow of James, living at 719 Maryland, but interestingly the 1911 directory lists Nellie as widowed, but also lists James M. CAMPBELL as living at 719 Maryland. The directories are interesting, but the many directories over about 20 yrs are too involved to list here and the best way to do it would be to get copies of the pages. It shows the numerous places they lived and also the children are listed after the death of Nellie.
I strongly suspect that the children were married in Butte, but that info is in the Clerk of Court records, which I did not research. The additional research is too extensive to do free, but if you want any copies of records, marriage record research, etc. let me know and I will give you a price. Feel free to contact me at Sincerely, Tony
