I am from Butte, MT. There is a Silver Bow County Archives now in Butte. I have their address and phone number but not handy right now. I can get it with a minor amount of searching. I will email the information to you. They are quite helpful and will photocopy things for you. Some of their sources are what the woman referred to a two person book. These copies cost more because two person have to handle the book in order to photocopy from it because of the size. They were quite friendly when I ask for information. I also had success in getting birth and death certificates from the county clerk and recorder. These certificates are inexpensive if obtained at the county level. The state produced ones are quite pricey. I look up the certificate number at a Family History Center in Everett, Washington. I then sent a list with the certificate numbers already listed and I received almost instant service. I have the county numbers also. I sold my family's house in Butte a couple year back so I have quite a few Butte phone numbers. Email me and I will try to help you.
