This is just a thought but Deer Lodge is or was home to the Montana State Prison. Perhaps Your mr. Gordon was a "visitor" there and Phillips county was where his last residence was before he was put there? I don't know anything about prison records or such but it might be worth checking into. I don't have access right now to any police records here to see if there was anything on him in them. Anyway it just was a thought I had. Good Luck! Let me know if I can help some more!
