A picture and biography of Robert Trafton are included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: Charles and Julia Ann (Hill) Trafton, natives of New Brunswick, Canada, and Scotland, respectively. In 1888, Robert built the first business house, a frame store, in Malta, Montana. In 1880, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robert married Miss Marion Knowlton, born in Richmond, New Brunswick.
