My name is Mikael Uhlin and I live in Sweden. Frans Lindgren, an uncle of my maternal grandmother, was born in Sweden in 1880 and immigrated to United States in the early 1900s. My grandparents received a letter from him in 1946, when he was living in Portland, Oregon. In the letter he informed them of his new, americanized name Frank Lind and also mentioned his daughter Ruth and his then 11-years old granddaughter Shirlene Abbott.
Could there be any connection with Frank and Ruth Lind mentioned above? In Sweden, parts of this Lindgren family have been traced to the early 1600th century.

Thanks Mikael Uhlin
