Lloyd, seventh man in point of service on the Missoula police force, lost a courageous battle for life Friday night when he succumbed at about 10:30 at a local hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Lloyd entered the hospital September 20 for an operation. Last week he underwent a second operation. He was 47 years of age. He first joined the Missoula police in 1925 when he became a regular patrolman. Previous to his police career he had worked for the Missoula gas company and operated a fish hatchery at Arlee. He is survived by his widow and a daughter, Rita Belle. The family home is at 721 South Second street.
