Clyde Smith Nelson was born 01-03-1897 at Tennesse, McDonough Co. IL. Traveled to Missoula MT area at the age of 13-14 with an attorney or business man who promised his parents he would put him through college if he would be permitted to help him drive back to MT. This is my wife's grandfather who died when she was 4 years old. Her grandfathers life & time period in MT while growing to young adult hood is a blank to the her and her family as he very rarely spoke of this time period. Does this story sound familiar to any ones ancester from Missoula MT who may have returned to MT with a young boy from Illinois in about the year 1910-11. Any help would be appreciated by my wife and her family.
