Hi Isabel,
While I was looking for his death info I found the following:

Guthrie Thomson on June 5, 1917 was living at 222 E. Copper St., Butte, Silver Bow, MT. He was an alien.
Born: T____ W____ Alberta, Canada on 25 Oct 1893.
Occupation: miner, speculator for North Butte Mining? Co.
He claimed an exemption in World War I because of his wife and two children.

Married: 30 Aug 1917, Butte, Silver Bow, MT
Father: Alexander D. Thomson
Mother: Agnes Gunnyson
Spouse: Elizabeth Kinnis Henderson Wright
Age: 22 b. abt. 1895
Her Father: John Wright
Her Mother: Mary Taylor

I didn't find his death info but I found a volunteer who will look that up at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~obitl/volmt.html .
