E. Skinner, 1st Montana Volunteer Infantry
I am looking for info on an E. Skinner (Edward, or Edgar, or Edmund, etc.) who joined the 1st Montana Volunteer Infantry in 1898 and saw action in the Spanish-American War where he was promoted to corporal and then sergeant.
He stayed in the military and saw action in W.W.I where he was promoted to lieutenant.
He retired from the military in 1920.
This is all I know about the gentleman.
A friend of mine owns his W.W.I campaign hat, which is in very nice condition for its age, and it has his name still on the sweatband along with the makers name in gold.
It's stamped, Lt. E. Skinner.
The above info on Lt. Skinner is all my friend could funs out thus far. He would love to know more about the man.
Anybody have any info on this Lt. Skinner?
