Seeking (Woodward) Gideon Family Descendants. Please Read...
My ancestor Apollos Woodward / Woodard was born in Vermont in 1785. His first family he abandoned in ca. 1814 intentionally or not. Anyway I found him in Fowler Twp, Trumbull Co, Ohio in the 1850 Census. His one son Edward Mason Woodward / Woodard married to Sarah Hake in 1850. They went to Grant County, Wisconsin ca. 1854 -1855. Edward Mason Woodward died in Hutchinson County, South Dakota in 1902. A couple of his children married into the Martell family. I am seeking descendants of the Woodward/Martell line. Tom Martell was a collector of family photographs. What became of these. I have some duplicates that were kindly loaned to me temporarily by an descendant elder of this Woodward-Martell family.
James B. Woodward, the other son born in ca. 1826-1827 relocated to Arcadia Township, Lapeer County, Michigan in ca. 1854-1855. His father "Thomas" applied for his War of 1812 Pension under his truthful name of Apollos Woodward but was rejected by the US Goverment because of lack of documentation or Service in the War. He married to Mary Jane Allen in Portage Co, Ohio in November 1851. The family moved to Ferris, Montcalm County, Michigan and thereafter some of the family relcated after the Spring of 1901 to Columbia County, Oregon. One daughter and her mother Mary Jane Woodward who married George L. Gideon and her mother Mary Jane nee: Allen were in Jordan, Garfield County, Montana Please call me if you are a descendant of this families (as I am a genealogist descendant of Apollos Woodward and am doing a family history and am willing to share what I have gathered over the years) at (603)788-4585 or write to me at P.O. Box 83 Lancaster, N.H. 03584 or even email me at [email protected].
Sincerely and kindly, Douglas Lloyd Buchholz
