I am getting my information from my mom, Karen Wilson Koch. She states that Mr. Fitzpatrick (Fitz) and my grandpa bought Thurber Printing Company from "old man Thurber" in the mid to late 1920's. She believes they met at the Independent Record (Helena's newspaper). I know my grandfather worked there as a young man. They owned Thurber's until the early 1960's, when Stan bought Fitz out of the business. Fitz was the outside salesperson for the company and Stan did the bookwork (accounting and figures, etc). My mom says that Fitz died of lung cancer in the late 1960's. She doesn't believe that he and Goldie had any children, at least she doesn't remember any. The Fitzpatrick's lived on the west side of town. Mom says that Fitz was a tall, thin man who wore glasses. The original Thurber Printing Company was on Park Avenue, but the building was demolished in 1972 due to Urban Renewal, so the business relocated.
