I'm trying to help a woman locate Luther W. Winkley, her ggrandfather. The family story she passed along to me is that he deserted his first wife and family in Iowa and came to Montana and eventually had another family. She is interested in contacting any descendents of the second family for genealogy purposes. She is particularly interested in finding his date and place of death. I am unable to give any time frame except that he was a veteran of the Civil War. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
