I didn't find anything on Bart Boice, but I thought you might be interested in this description of Dryhead, Montana:Extracted from the book "Names on the Face of Montana: The Story of Montana's Place Names," by Roberta Carkeek Cheney:
"DRYHEAD was the name chosen when citizens petitioned for a post office on an "Indian Reservation" in 1908.Charles Phelps was to have been postmaster, but the order of establishment was rescinded."
"DRYHEAD (Carbon County) was established in 1919 with James Ellis as postmaster. The area was named for the many dried buffalo skulls found at the bottom of a buffalo jump here.DRYHEAD is in the eastern portion of Carbon County in the foothills of the East Pryor Mountains. The mail carrier came twice a week when roads permitted. There was a voting precinct in Dryhead, but quite often bad roads made it impossible to get results to the county seat at Red Lodge for a week or more."
You might want to check out the surnames "Boice" and "Boyce" using the MTGenWeb Archives search engine:

You might also want to re-post your query on the Carbon County Rootsweb site which can be accessed from this Carbon County link:

Good luck!
