I checked the 1920 & 1930 Census indexes and could not find a reference to Sterling Young, Christopher Young, Chris Young, S.C. Young, etc. As they are over 300 Youngs in the 1920 census, and I don't think I can find Sterling without knowing his father's given name; and there are over 900 Youngs in the 1930 census--so you see my problem. Therefore, could you provide a little more information?
As to Birth Certificates, they were rarely issued prior to about 1915-1920 as most people were born at home. Deaths, however, were recorded.
