Mary,
In the days before copy machines, duplicate copies of the marriage certificate were made. One was sent home with the newlyweds and the other was sent to the courthouse to be registered and receive the official county seal which made it the official copy. In many cases this copy was never picked up by the bride and groom. It probably did not seem important because they had a copy. The previous reply I sent you told yoy how to find the Cascade county GenWeb page, on this page are details about who to contact concerning marriage records. These records may tell you the names of the parents of the bride and groom, places of birth etc.
Also if the original certificate is on file you very likely can obtain it if you can prove your relationship. Most of the county courthouses are in the process of converting their records to microfilm and are deleting paper records whenever possible. At any rate you should be able to get a certified copy.
