An interesting obituary for Lindner Walker's grandfather, Henry Lindner, who lived to be nearly 100 years old. It may give you further clues. HELENA INDEPENDENT, Helena, MT, 16 April 1930 Henry H. Lindner of Helena Dies, Near Century Mark Had he lived until the 20th day of next July, Henry H. Lindner, 50 years a resident of Montana, and 44(?) years in Helena, who died last night at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Gebhardt, 841 Water Street, would have been 100 years old. Mr. Lindner is survived by two sons, Jacob and John, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Gebhardt, all of Helena. Mr. Lindner was born in Baden, Germany, 25 Jul 1830, and he emigrated to the US in 1861, locating first in Chicago where he opened and operated a shoe factory, having learned the trade in Germany. In Chicago, shortly after arriving there, he married Bertha Elcholis? (or Elcholts?). To them were born four children: Benjamin G., who died some four years ago, Jacob, John, and Jennie G. Comes West - Mr. Lindner heard the call of the west and acted upon it, arriving with his family in Dillon in 1880, then the terminus of the railroad. From Dillon he and his family traveled by stage to Butte. In that city he engaged in the shoe business. With his wife and children he moved to Helena in 1886 where he operated a shoe store. In 1910, Mrs. Lindner died and since that date he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Fred Gebhardt. Notify Administrator about this message?
