A biography of Oscar E. Lehmicke, Bigfork, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 860. Oscar was born, Oct 1863, son of Rudolph and Jane (Tackaberry) Lehmicke. In Aug 1883, Oscar came to Montana and helped bring in the first cattle owned by Pierre Wibeaux. He lived for four years at Dickenson, ND. In 1888, Oscar married Pauline Kottka, also a native of Stillwater, MN. Lehmicke children: Rupert and Margaret. In 1901, Oscar came to the Flathead country and worked in the Somers Lumber Company. He moved to Bigfork and conducted a prosperous mercantile business. In 1914, Mr. Lehmicke was appointed postmaster and served out a four-year term. Oscar died, 25 Jan 1930. I am not related.
