Mansfield A. Daniels was my grandfather. Addie Timmons Daniels was his first wife. They had no children of their own & adopted Randolph Bear when he was very young. My grandmother, Mabel Etta Brooks, who was from South Royalton, VT met both Mansfield & Addie Daniels at the Buffalo Exposition & corresponded with Addie. Addie died & Mansfield
wrote her & also met her when he went back east. They married in 1909. My grandfather was 20 years older than my grandmother. My aunt, Marjorie Addie Daniels was born in 1910 in South Royalton & then moved to Scobey with my grandmother in 1910. As far as I know, she was never called Addie, always Marjorie. My mother, Maydene Angie Daniels was born in 1911 & my uncle, S. Mansfield Daniels was born a few years later in 1914. After my grandfather died in 1919, they said in Scobey for about 2 years or so & then my grandmother moved back to South Royalton, VT with her 3 children.
My Aunt Marjorie moved back to Scobey in the 1970's and I think she lived there until she died. My mother did go back in 1977 to visit my aunt & did donate pictures of her parents that are suppose to be hanging up in the Courthouse.
