Frank W. Thompson, Reform School, 1900

Searching for information on Frank Thompson. He was in the Montana State Reform School, Miles City, Custer Co MT in 1900 census. He was aged 16 at that time. I believe this was the same person as Frank W. Thompson as the one shown in the Savannah, Chatham Co GA census in 1920, aged 36, born in MT, parent b in NC. This Frank W. Thompson was my grandfather. Family history says his parents were missionaries who went to Montana. He married Bessie Short 15 Aug 1921 in Girard AL, had two children (Paul who was b 1922 in Montgomery AL and Mary who was born 1923 in Camden, Arkansas). Frank died ca 1925-6, certainly before 1930 at location unknown. Is this reform school still in existence? What kind crimes were committed to be in such a school - I notice some boys are quite young. What area did this school pull from? Was it a district type of thing, or the whole state? Hoping there are still some records for this school so I can prove or disprove if these are the same person. THanks, Trish Elliott-Kashima
