The Air Force Times just reported that MSgt Benjamin H. Hunter passed away in March 2008. He was born in DeFuniak Springs, Fla on 10-24-1922, the son of Robert Lee Ringo and Iva Gertrude Thompson. He married Shirley Jean Allison on 12-4-1949 in Redfield, S. Dakota, daughter of Lee Allison, born 5-12-1928 in White So. Dakota. in 1976 they lived in Columbia Falls, Montana. Benjamin Ringo served in WWII and in Korea and retired from the US Air Force. His wife Shirely was a postmaster. They had 3 children:
Jean Marie Ringo, b. 8-14-1951
Thomas Price Ringo, b. 7-25-1953
Allison Ann Ringo, b. 1-20-1962

I never met Ben Ringo, although I also retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant. I served in Korea and Vietnam. Ben's Dad,Robert Lee Ringo, was just like my Dad. He had interests in cattle, horses, farming, real estate and politics. Bob Ringo was an MD, first practicing in Water Valley, Ky and later moved to DeFuniak Springs, Fla, then to Jacksonville, Fla. Bob Ringo died on 2-23-1947 in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was buried in Myaaka, Fla

Sure wish I had known Benjamin Hunter Ringo, would have had a lot of stories to tell. Jim Ringo, MSgt, USAF (ret), Jensen Beach, Fla
