William T. and Nellie Burke at Stickney Ranch 1889

William T. Burke and wife "Nellie"(we think she may have another name) maiden McNett lived on the Stickney Ranch in the late 1880s. William was born October 1848 in either Cinncinati, Ohio or Ky (Ohio is probably correct). In March 1889 they had daughter Rose Burke (my ggrandmother). In 1893 we believe wife Nellie died giving birth to their second daughter (named after mother) Nellie Burke. William had been a ranchman on the Stickney Ranch. After his wife's death, William moved to Chinook county, and on June 28, 1894 he married Christina Otterson born in Norway (naturalized 1873?). Christina had two grown daughters from a previous marriage one named Anna (called Annie) who is listed on the 1900 census as living with the family along with her own 1-year old daughter Margaret. William and Christina lived in Glasgow and in 1896 had son Walter Burke. William T. Burke died in March of 1904 and Christina could not care for the 2 step-daughters Rose and Nellie. Rose ends up living in Vinton, Benton co, Iowa and Nellie at age 12 is in Sweet Grass, Craig, Montana. If ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT WHERE MOTHER NELLIE DIED OR IS BURIED OR IF ANYONE KNOWS ANCESTORS OF THIS FAMILY PLEASE EMAIL ME!!!!
