A biography of Sever O. Huseth is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, page 832. Sever O. Huseth was born, 19 May 1869, the fourth of seven children of Ole and Bertha (Roe) Huseth. His father, a goldsmith, died in Norway in 1879, age 48. Afterward Bertha came to the US and died in 1911 in Minnesota, at age 67. Sever attended school in Norway until 1885 when he came to the US and located near Broadhead, WI, where he worked as a farmhand. He moved to near Horeb, WI, and worked as a farmhand for several years; then moved to North Dakota and worked as a farmhand for about two years. He began learning the watchmakers trade at Park River, ND, and worked at his apprenticeship for two years. He returned to Horeb, WI, where he was in the jewelry business for six years, at the same time studying and preparing to be an optician. He went back to Park River, ND, and went into business for himself. He took a course in optometry at Litchfield, MN, and in 1902 came to Montana and entered a homestead claim. In 1903, he located to Great Falls, MT, where he was a jeweler and optician. On 23 May 1893, Sever married Miss Gina Lee, a native of Norway. Huseth children: Olive, Blanche, Elmer (who died at age six), Ethel, Grace, Oliver, May. Sever Huseth died, 2 Feb 1951, age 81, Cascade County, MT Gina Huseth died, 7 Jan 1967, age 98, Cascade County, MT I am not related. Notify Administrator about this message?
