I am trying to find any info. on my grandfather. He used the name Morgan King and Edward Morgan King. He was born on August 26, 1907. He gave his birth place as Box Elder, Hill County, Montana. He went to school at St. Peters Mission from 1917-1925. He was in the navy from June 4, 1926 to May 13, 1930. His serial # was 279 23 22. He was first married to Louise Steinhoff on August 7, 1929 in Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Louise was the daughter of Henry Steinhoff and Louise Fox. He next married Mary Maxine Mingus on July 17, 1933 in Greenup, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Elda Mingus and Mary Nunley. His next wife was Clara Elizabeth Belgarde. She was the daughter of Frank St. Germaine and Liza Geddes. They were married on October 3, 1953 in Wolf Point, Roosevelt County, Montana. His last wife was Esther Y. Shy Face aka Esther Yellow Owl. She was the daughter of James Yellow Owl and Dora Young Man.
From 1955-1965 he was employed at the Montana Meat Company in Helena, Montana. From 1965-1969 he was employed by the Fort Peck Tribes in Poplar, Montana. He was the supervisor for the C.A.P. Programs and Mainstream. From 1970-1971 he was employed by the Helena Indian Alliance. He was the assistant director and finally the Director of the Helena Indian Alliance.

I joined the Alliance on the fourth of February, 1970. I wworked a short while as Administrative Assistant. I was selected President of the Alliance in March of 1970. I served in that capacity until July, 1970.
During this period, I worked for the Rocky Mountain Developement Council as Co. Community Organizer for low income people.
I have been closely involved with the present Director, Mr. George Richter in all phases of the Alliance operations.
I have helped and had input in writing the Grant Applications for funding from Model Cities, the C.A.P. 7 and 81 for O.E.O.
I am presently employed by the Alliance as Man Power Coordinator.
I served one term as a member of the South Side Council was re-elected this year as Chairman of the Council.
I served on the Physical Environment Committee of Model Cities.
I am at present Vice-Chairman of the Urban Renewal grievance committee.
I was employed as a consultant with the School District in setting up the Indian Cultural and History courses in Helena.
I have been called on many times by the schools and colleges, to talk on Indian Culture and History.
I also worked with Mr. Joe Desume for many years in getting Docket #191 thru the Indian Claims Commission for the Landless Indians of Montana and North Dakota.
I also helped organize an Indian group known as O'Kyjinia on the Ft. Peck Reservation, patterned along Civil Rights, lines along with Carson Boyd and June Stafnie.
I have devoted my entire life to fighting for the right on Indian people.
I hoope you will consider me on the basis of my experience and devotion to the rights of the Indian.
