Dugout / Skeletons near Battlefield

Searching for information on FREDERICK ERNEST UEECK, b. 1886, Deerfield Township, Waushara County, Wisconsin. Lived in a dugout near / or in Custer's Battlefield, Big Horn County, Montana. He died in 1971 and was buried at Custer's Battlefield, Montana. I don't know if he is buried in a cemetary near there or not. In the late 1950's, early 1960's, my parents visited the dugout where he had lived, apparently he had moved. His belongings were still in the dugout. His red long-johns were hanging from the ceiling. Does anyone know of any dugouts near the battlefield?
Also, while they were exploring they found a cave near the battlefield. Inside were at least 2 skeletons with what appeared to be Army uniforms. They were newly married and very young and did not want to disturb anything. They never told anyone about the skeletons. Have any remains of soldiers from the battle been found in caves?

Would appreciate any information. Thank you.
