On 6 February 1840 George Andruss of Vicksburg quitclaimed his right to land in Canaan, Columbia Co., NY, as an heir of Daniel Andrus of Canaan, deceased. I have constructed the following family.
Does anyone have any information about George and/or his family?
Surname spelled Andrus, Andruss, Andress, Andrews, etc. Other surnames: Brinton, Norton, Tuttle
Especially interested in parents of Daniel Andrus and maiden names of females.
1 Daniel Andrus b: Bef. 1779 CT d: probably 1810-1820; definitely before 1820 when Sally Andrews is head of household; probably died in Canaan, Columbia Co., NY
NOTES: Birth - guess Daniel at least age 20 at birth of daughter, Elizabeth; in 1880 census, Elizabeth and Nancy Andrus show father born in CT, mother in NY. He could be the Daniel, age 40, who died in 1813, per Canaan Four Corners church data.
