Roy Wade Jordan, 69, died June 16, 2009, at his residence. He was born Sept. 24, 1939, in Baldwyn to James and Sara Prather Jordan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, the National Guard and Reserve Units. He was a dairy farmer for 29 years. Then he was a self-employed truck driver. He was a deacon at Wells Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed teaching and reading his Bible.
Services were at United Funeral Service Chapel with burial at Wells Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife of 46 years, Freida Roberts Jordan of New Albany; one daughter, Pam Jordan Vaughn (Michael) of New Albany; one son, Pat Jordan (Kelli) of New Albany; one brother, Danny Jordan (Tommie) of New Albany; one stepsister, Kathy Chism (Bob) of Myrtle; one stepbrother, Wallace Leath (Brenda) of Ecru; six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Jordan.
