Henry Clay Foster Sr., 78, died May 9, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Union County to Zachariah Oce Foster and Zula Josephine Jackson Foster. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the United States Army. He was retired district manager for the Tupelo Daily Journal circulation department. He was an elder in the Antioch Church of Christ. He loved baseball, westerns and reading his Bible.
Services were at the Antioch Church of Christ with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife of 54 years, Sybil Foster of Blue Springs; one daughter, Trena Nean Stanford of Pontotoc; one son, Henry Clay Foster Jr. (Lana Caldwell) of Sherman; two sisters, Janie Owen (Charles “Todd”) of New Albany; Ruchie Teague (Terry) of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren, Shea Beane of Saltillo, Seseme Stanford of Tupelo and Courtney Foster, Trae Foster and Noelle Foster, all of Sherman; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
