Elizabeth
The "louisa" that was 7 years old in the 1870 census I believe could very well be my gg-grandmother!
Her name was Mary Louise Lunsford b. 10-19-1863 mississippi
I have read many posts trying to put two and two together concerning her parents. Here's what I know, her father was Guess Lunsford so he could be "Gus Lunsford (short for Augustin) Her mother's last name was "Glasscock" & reportedly died when Mary Louise was 12 (1875-76) She reportedly had a sister Attie, which sure sounds like your "Mattie". Also supposedly Mary Louise's parents split up 9 months after her birth. After her mothers death she reportedly then lived with a "Dora (Madora) Vandiver".
She married her 1st husband on may 22, 1879 in MS. She also was supposed to have a brother named "Russell". Could that be John R.? Her sibling(s) were reportedly half, or step, ther was also a Betty? or Bevy?, & a Ben! siblings. There also may be an arkansas connection. Looking forward to hearing what your thoughts, Thanks
