Iuka – Talford Wadkins, 73, died Nov. 2, 2009, at his residence. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Services were at New Salem Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka was in charge.
Survivors included his wife, Sandra Wadkins of Iuka; a son, Stanley Wadkins (Tammy) of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three stepsons, Timothy Rutledge (Rita) of Burnsville, Thomas Rutledge (Amy) of Clarksville, Tenn., and Gregory Rutledge (Aleta) of New Orleans; a daughter, Deanna Cole (James) of Russellville, Ark.; one stepdaughter, Lori Davis (Chris) of Iuka; a brother, Larry Wadkins (Vernell) of Iuka; four sisters, Catherine Gentle of Tishomingo, Faye Martin (Earl) of Iuka, Nona Rich (Billy) of Cherokee, Ala., and Lena Magaraci of Sun City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Emma Wadkins; five brothers, Woodrow, Clinton, Milford, Donald and Hershel Wadkins; and two sisters, Celeste Tucker and Beatrice Harold.
