Iuka - Marie Smith, 80, of Iuka died Oct. 29, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- DeSoto in Southaven. She was a retired Iuka merchant and a former “demo” lady at Walmart. She had served as past secretary-treasurer of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW and a member of Southwood Baptist Church.
Service were Nov. 1 at Southwood Baptist Church. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka was in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Smith; and her parents, Dewey and Pansy Sartain.
Survivors included three sons, Merle Smith of Trussville, Ala., Kenneth Smith of Southaven and Bro. Jerry Smith of Santa Claus, Ind.; two brothers, Billy P. Sartain of Belmont, and B.D. Sartain of Dennis; two sisters, Ramell Huddleston, Booneville and Timmie Lee Cadle of Selmer, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
