Tishomingo – Clara Jane Kennedy Black, 91, died Sept. 15, 2009, at her residence. She was born March 15, 1918, in Tishomingo to Thomas W. and Annie Paden Kennedy and was married to Woodrow Black for 49 years. She was a homemaker and retired from Tishomingo County Headstart. She was a member of Tishomingo Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services were at Tishomingo Baptist Church with burial in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included one son, Charles Kennedy Black and wife, Marcia Black, of Tishomingo; one grandson, Alan Thomas Black of Tishomingo; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Francis Kennedy of Tishomingo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Veatress Offutt and Virginia Holley.
