Iuka – Major Kirk, 84, died Sept. 9, 2009, at his home. He was a member of the Iuka United Methodist Church and the Iuka Lodge 94 F&AM. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Services were at the Iuka United Methodist Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one son, Phillip Kirk (Sandy) of Iuka; one daughter, Pam Monroe (Albert) of Iuka; one sister, Blanche Brown of Iuka; four grandchildren, Alan Smith (Risa), Leslie Kirk, Cameron Kirk and Taylor Kirk; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Kirk; his parents, Everett and Ruby Kirk; three brothers, Noel, Talmadge and Pauley Kirk; and a sister, Beulah Kirk.
